Difficult to set up January 8, 2010

Sadly I purchased this becuase it appeared to be a fairly simple marble-run-like 'game'. Set it up...roll the marble...and watch the fun. While the product is built with pretty heavy duty wood it also slips and slides eaily on most surfaces making setup very difficult. The overlapping track parts tend to fall apart after one or two runs because they are not stable - this was a point of frustration resulting in tears for the target child (7 year old). I held high hopes that perhaps I was not doing something correctly...but in the end we just couldn't pull the enjoyment to give this more than 3 stars.

Our first Plan Toys Fail February 14, 2011

This marble run, quite simply, does not work. The pieces do not fit together. If you are coordinated enough (read, not in the 4-6 age group advertised for this toy), you will probably be able to build a decent track with the pieces, and it may last for a couple runs before the whole thing collapses. Very frustrating. I love the idea of wooden toys built from sustainably harvested wood, but in retrospect, this is one of those times I wish I had opted for plastic. I know there are really cool wooden sets out there, but they are way, way pricey and there is clearly a reason this set is so much less expensive than the others.I gave this set a second star only because in our house the pieces have been repurposed as blocks, and they do make pretty nice blocks - especially the little windmill. Probably not worth the price of the set just to use them as blocks, but at least the set wasn't a total waste.

We too found tears in trying to assemble the tracks and get the marble to run over them all the time. Great wooden construction and you want to like it however a bit complex for a young child

Frustrating for children and parents alike

Build N Roll
The toy is great but a little too complicated for our 4 year old to put together on his own. Usually requires us parents to build and then fix as it is played with.
