Lots of fun for my 4 year old! December 3, 2010
By L. Acheson
Durability: Educational: Fun:
My son received the starter set for his birthday and played with it for hours. The pieces are high quality and built to last. I have no doubt this will be a toy we can pass down. We have a few expansion sets on his Christmas list. I really enjoy this toy and the fact that it is wooden (not plastic).

Not worth the high price December 25, 2011

Durability: Educational: Fun:
Received a gift from Grandma of a big set of these quadrilla's, ours looks to be roughly twice the size of the basic set. The pros: Very sturdy wood that will last, very handsome looking with painted and finished wood Cons: These aren't intuitive to set up, and for a younger kid, say under 6 or 7, unable to set up and operate at all on their own--except perhaps for the first few minutes after you set it up for them, before they knock it down or take it apart. Which leads to second con, the blocks and pieces are all just stacked via gravity, a bump and the set up gets knocked down. Another problem is that the various cross "rails" (bare wood curves in picture) are flat, they aren't pitched (like you might expect), so the system relies on little red wedge pieces as mini-ramps to create the energy for the marble make it across the rails. Sometimes, on a short run, you don't even get enough energy for the marble to make it across the rail (esp a double long rail), in other instances, the marbles fall off the wedge, if it's not set just right, or if the marble is coming down fast through the chute blocks (colored blocks in picture). Far too finicky to keep working. I have kids ranging from 2 to 9, no one ended up using it at all. The second Christmas, I thought I'd try to resurrect it by picking a nice setup, and screwing/gluing it permanently together, so at least we could have fun sending marbles down it. Even this wasn't very successful, again, still finicky at certain junctures and would get jammed easily in spots, or marbles would come off. It ended up as a mini-climber for my 2 year olds, and actually got more use with them climbing on it. We have another product Quercetti, much simpler, ends up working out much better, more intuitive and while it has it's issues, gets way more play time then the quad ever did, way better value for money.

Worth the money - this toys entertains and LASTS October 24, 2011
By sunny swimmer
Durability: Educational: Fun:
This set is very durable, fun, and interesting for small children; my son is 4 and has loved it since he was 2. It is an open-ended activity that allows for different outcomes and experiences each time, so it keeps his mind active and keeps his attention as well. Further, it is very well made and I have no doubt that it will last for my second child to enjoy and then for cousins after that. This is the kind of toy I feel good spending my money on.
