I bought this for my 5 year old nephew and for me because many of his toys are old and not challenging for his age. This was a little too much for him. The pieces are so light that the legs are not very stable on their own. We were holding it upright as the marbles were coming down. The braces for the yellow rail swirls were difficult for my 9 year-old nephew to get on.At the same time, it was fun. The overall way you put the pieces together is easy. The designs are limitless. But unless your kids are coordinated, you'd better love construction games yourself because they will need your help.

Although the box said ages 8+, my six year old nephew loved this! He needed help putting a full coaster together but was quite content playing and building things on his own also. As he watched me build a coaster, he copied some things I was doing to make his own. Only problem was not very sturdy. I decided to fill the bottom blue holders with play doe so they would steady the coaster better. Without it, the coaster becomes too "top heavy" and you have to hold some parts as the child plays. Otherwise, great fun for hours.

This toy was a huge dissapointment. The parts are soft and the structure is flimsy. I had a really hard time putting it togther and once assembled it's unstable. Don't waste your money on this toy.

Purchased this for my 5 year old grandson. It probably would be better for a somewhat older child. Still, it is fun to work with him on building runs.
